When Cal starts editing, he first reviews all of the footage from the day. We typically have around twelve hours of footage to sift through, and every single clip is considered. When you have booked two videographers, it’s nearly double the amount. From there, he selects the moments that best represent your day, whether it’s the way you looked at each other during the vows, a funny moment during the speeches, or a candid shot of your best friend.
After selecting the footage, Cal works on colour grading, sound editing, and adding the perfect soundtrack. All of these elements come together to create a cinematic video that transports you back to the day. We also ensure the pacing flows naturally, capturing the highs and lows of the day in the most seamless way possible.
Factors That Affect Wedding Video Editing Time
The editing time for a wedding video depends on a variety of factors. The length of the video, the complexity of the edit, and whether you’ve requested a full-length film or just a highlight reel all play a role in the time it takes to get your video back.
During the off-season, we typically aim to deliver your wedding video within four weeks. During the main wedding season, the editing process may take up to 12 weeks. This is due to the volume of weddings we’re working on at any given time. We always do everything we can to ensure that we deliver the highest quality video in the shortest amount of time possible.
One thing we make a priority is getting a wedding trailer to you as quickly as possible. Once we’ve completed the initial edits, we send you a short, highlight trailer of your wedding film. This trailer gives you a glimpse into your full video and provides something to share with friends and family while we continue to work on the full-length film.
What Happens After We Complete Your Wedding Film?
Once the full video is ready, we’ll send it to you for review. This is your opportunity to make any adjustments or provide feedback. We understand how important it is for you to be completely happy with your wedding film, so we welcome your thoughts and notes.
Once the video is finalised, we will send it to you in your preferred format. This typically includes a USB drive and downloadable files so you can easily access and share your video. We want to make sure your wedding video is easy to watch and share, whether that’s with your family and friends or on your own time.
