How Long Is a Wedding Video? Our Film Lengths Explained

It is a fair question, and the honest answer is that it depends on what you want to watch back. Some couples want a short film they can share with everyone. Others want every word of the speeches and the whole of the ceremony.

Here is how long each of our films is, what comes with each package, and how to decide which suits you.

Key Highlights

  • Essentials: a 20–30 minute film of your day, plus a 5–10 minute highlight film.
  • Deluxe: a 40–45 minute film, plus a 15–20 minute highlight film, your ceremony and speeches, and a 60–90 second trailer.
  • Ultimate: a feature film of 60 minutes, with the same extras.
  • You can ask for a different length, and we will tell you honestly what we think will work.
  • Short trailers usually arrive within 2–3 weeks, and longer films take 12–20 weeks.

Our Film Lengths by Package

Essentials

A chronological film of around 20–30 minutes, covering the main moments of your day, like the ceremony and, if you have one, the first look. You also get a 5–10 minute highlight film.

Deluxe

A 40–45 minute film that shows much more of the day as it happened. As well as the longer film, you get:

  • a 15–20 minute highlight film
  • your full ceremony and speeches as separate films
  • a 60–90 second trailer for Instagram, TikTok or Facebook

Ultimate

A feature film of 60 minutes, covering your day from start to finish, with the same extras as Deluxe.

You will find everything that is included in each on our packages page. If you want to know more about the shorter films, our post on how long a highlight video is goes into more detail.

Can You Choose a Different Length?

Yes. If none of the package lengths quite fits, tell us, and we will talk it through with you. Couples have asked us for:

  • a 3–4 minute highlight film
  • an 8–10 minute ceremony film with your vows and readings
  • a 15–20 minute recap of the reception
  • a 30–45 minute documentary film, from getting ready to the evening

We are always here to talk through the kind of film you want, and we will be honest about what we think will work.

Which Length Is Right for You?

There is no right answer, but a few questions help.

How often will you watch it? A shorter film is easy to put on for an anniversary or show to friends. A longer film is something you will sit down with properly, maybe once a year.

Do you want to hear the speeches again? If so, it is worth choosing a package that includes your full ceremony and speeches. A highlight film only includes parts of them.

Is anyone missing on the day? A longer film lets grandparents or friends abroad see much more of the day than a short one.

If you are still not sure, tell us what matters most to you and we will tell you honestly what we would choose.

How Long It Takes to Arrive

Short trailers usually arrive within 2–3 weeks, and longer films take 12–20 weeks depending on the time of year. Our post on how long it takes to get your film back has more detail, and if you are thinking about how your film should finish, we have written about how to end a wedding video too.
